Gettin' there...

Pages 1-13 have been penciled and inked. I was hoping to be a bit further than this by now but I'll take what I can get.

Bought some new brushes that I tested a couple of weeks ago. Here's one of the results. I don't think I'll be making the switch to using a brush 100% of the time. I wish I could though. 

Stumbling block this week was showing the new strike cruiser to Jay and his comment that it doesn't fit with what we're trying to do visually. I've come up with a new design that I think we both like now.

Best conversation this week was a friend telling me that I was coloring something wrong but doesn't know how to use photoshop.

Maybe Now...?

After Jay's visit last summer, I pulled out all of the older Lineage stuff we had come up with and took a couple of months to see what I liked and didn't like. There were new pages created that I still wanted to use and some old pages that I thought could be used as well. But ultimately, I decided that what Jay had written deserved a fresh update with new artwork.

So, stay tuned.

I met up with Chris last week and we skimmed over the rewrites to Lineage, what he needs to keep pushing forward, and such. For the most part, the visit was a basic infusion of drive and purpose. Of course, more importantly, it was a reunion of two friends who hadn't been in the same physical space in over 6 years.

I wish I could have visited longer!

New Art!!!

I'm still here and I'm still drawing. Just not as much. Good news though, my World of Warcraft account expires in August and I've decided not to renew. That means more time for art!

Not Dead Yet

I know I said that this would kill me but I'm still here working on this. As you can see, it's just about done.

Save the Date

The first issue of Lineage will be finished in June of 2010. Why so long? It's over 60 pages and I'm handling pencils, inks, colors and lettering. I plan to have at least half of it done by Wondercon in February so that I can start promoting it.

Book Duty

Sorry for no art post this week. I'm back on book duty and the current page I'm working on is killing me. A while back, I posted the previous version of this page and wondered if I should recolor it. The answer turned out to be yes. Damn my OCD! (edit. new image uploaded 7/24/2009)

So... Lack of update due to having to move and a calendar I want to put out next year of my work. I have 5 illustrations done so far. Need 7 more. Here's the first one.

OMG!!!

Has it been that long? Several things that have come up that have prevented me from updating this blog (Jay is still in school, I believe) so, I'm attempting an update now. No new artwork this time though but I'll have something soon. Promise.

So...

I had done some coloring for Lineage about 2 years ago before I petered out and went to live in another world. I've come to one of the pages (as you can see below) and was considering leaving it colored the way it was but I'm leaning towards re-coloring it so that it will be more consistent with the newer content.

Digital gaming addiction will do that to you. However! I believe I have recovered enough to move on and and pick up the pieces of this project to finally finish it. We will have an expanded story line! New art work! New colors!
